The Nook and Nest (“we”, “us”) operates thenookandnest.com and the short-term rental properties listed on it. This policy explains what we collect when you visit the site, why, and what choices you have.

Information you give us

Email address — if you join our list for new properties and returning-guest offers.
Messages — anything you type into the chat assistant or send us by email.
Booking details — name, contact details, stay dates and payment information. These are collected and processed by Hospitable, our booking provider, through the booking widget embedded on our booking pages. We receive the reservation details; we never see or store your full card number.

Information collected automatically

When you browse the site, we and the services below receive standard technical information: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, how you arrived, and time spent.

The services above set cookies and use similar identifiers to recognise returning visitors and measure advertising. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, though some measurement will not.

Meta advertising: adjust your Meta ad preferences.
Most browsers also offer tracking protection or a “Do Not Track” setting.

To take and manage your reservation and communicate with you about your stay.
To answer questions you send us.

To measure and target our advertising.
To send you email updates, if you asked for them. Every email has an unsubscribe link.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers listed above, so they can do the job we use them for, and where we are required to by law.

How long we keep it

Reservation records are kept as long as needed for tax, accounting and legal purposes. Analytics data is retained on the schedule set in each platform. Email list entries are kept until you unsubscribe.

Your choices

You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, by emailing hello@thenookandnest.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the GDPR; we will honour valid requests either way.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date at the top.
