Secret rooms, narrow passageways & views that you won’t soon forget welcome you as you step into the Castle Tower at Hidden Castle. You’ll step into the tower and walk through the 40’ turret and under the Juliet balcony to be greeted by vaulted ceilings & up close and personal views of the famous Grandfather Mountain profile. 

Enough room for your friends and your family, this will be the High Country Stay that will live in your memories for many years to come.

The space

The Hidden Castle is a 6000 square foot home centered around a 40′ stone turret with a Juliet Balcony. Each room has been carefully designed and furnished with guests in mind. The five bedrooms sleep a maximum of 14 guests with four full bathrooms across the two (two on the top, two on the main). The top floor has its own primary suite with a queen bed and attached full bathroom. Also on the top floor, guests will find two bunk rooms, each sleeping four guests over four twin beds. The second bunk room can be found hiding behind a hidden door that masquerades as a book case. 

On the main level, guests will enjoy a luxurious primary suite with an enormous wet room, complete with dual showers and a soaking tub. In addition to the primary suite on the main level, guests will find another bedroom with a queen bed. The main level also hosts a large living room with stone fireplace with neighboring grand windows that frame in the classic Grandfather Mountain profile. Guests will also find a game room on the main level as well, complete with a classic multi-game arcade, skeeball and shuffleboard.

The main level boasts a well stocked kitchen with plenty of flatware, drink ware, silverware and appliances. In addition to the conventional kitchen and cookware, guests will find a well stocked coffee bar as well as a unique cocktail station with mini fridge ready for your wine beer and other cool beverages.

Guest access

You’re booking the top two floors of the Hidden Castle in Banner Elk. You’ll have private access to both patios (including the one with the hot tubs, front patio and the entire top two floors of the building. You’ll also have shared access of the deck with the Adirondack chairs, fire pit, hammock and egg chairs as well as 10 acres of property grounds to explore. Note that if the basement (not included in this listing) is booked by another guest during your stay, you may encounter other guests in those shared areas (deck or grounds of the property).

Other things to note

This space is a part of a larger home and has two different units that can be rented together or separately. This listing represents the top two floors of this three story castle. The top two floors are there own unit with separate entrances, patios and living spaces. 

During your stay, there may or may not be other guests staying in the lowest floor of the castle. Should the lowest floor be booked during your stay, you may encounter other guests on the shared deck with egg chairs and fire pit as well as the grounds of the 10 acre property. 

The Hidden Castle is located in an ideal location. Appalachain State University is just 11 miles from our door. The quaint and highly rated Downtown Banner Elk is just 4 miles away. Grandfather Mountain State Park and the famous swinging bridge is just 8 miles from our door. The famous town of Blowing Rock (voted the best place to view fall colors) is just 17 miles from our door. 

Being right off of Hwy 105 means that we have quick and easy access to every thing that the High Country has to offer. Our easy access and proximity to the highway does result in some road noise that some guests may notice. 

The driveway is asphalt and accessible year round. Although, during winter weather, it is recommended to arrive in a vehicle that has 4×4 or is equipped with snow chains. When we have winter weather in the forecast, I do my best to communicate with guests to ensure proper preparation and have a safe and easy arrival.
